Kia mau koe ki nga kupu o ou tupuna
Action Ed, originally known as Action Education, was established in the 1980s and grew alongside Youthline, becoming its creative arm. Action methods, group discussions, creativity and theoretical training were the cornerstones of the work. The team was a blend of trained therapists, educators, and younger youth workers, delivering authentic, engaging, and highly effective programmes.
In 2010, Youthline Youth Worker and Action Ed facilitator Ramon Narayan became the organisation's manager. Under his leadership, spoken word poetry became the core of Action Ed's programmes, building on its history of psychodrama, counselling, and youth development.
Today, Action Ed is an independent charity using poetry for professional, educational, and personal growth in corporate boardrooms, sports clubs, community centres and classrooms across Aotearoa New Zealand.
